WELCOME TO SPORT AT NORTHCOTE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL
We believe that sport is about the journey not the destination. We always aim to win and do our best, but never at the expense of fair play, and respecting ourselves and others.
With students of this age, we walk a tightrope between their ever-increasing desire and pressure to win, and the importance of creating and maintaining an experience where students look forward to continuing an active lifestyle at secondary school and beyond.
The feeling of winning will be temporary, but the lessons learned in sport can be used for a lifetime.
As administrators of sport, we know that it is inevitable that we will have to make difficult decisions around player selection and placement. Our community can be assured that decision making will be made with these principles at heart. Volunteer coaches and managers are vital to the success of any season. Without these offers of support we may not be able to enter teams.
PAYMENT OF FEES
- Badminton (Term 3) – $50
- Basketball (Semester One) – $145 – registrations due Wed 4 Feb 2026
- Football (Term 1) Development Programme – $75 – registrations due Thu 5 Feb 2026
- Hockey (Terms 2 & 3) – $175
- Netball (Terms 2 & 3) – $140 – registration due Wed 11 Feb 2026
- Table Tennis (Terms 2, 3, 4) – $40 per term
- Touch (Term 4) – $60
- Waterpolo (Glenfield Competition terms 1, 2, 3, & 4) – $145 per term – term 1 registrations due Mon 5 Feb 2026
- Waterpolo (Terms 2 Millennium Competition each term) – $160, (Terms 3 & 4 paid together = $320)
Registration and payment is required before your child can attend trials for seasonal sports. This is done through your child’s Northcote Intermediate Kindo account. For students returning to Northcote Intermediate in 2026, you will be able to sign-up now. Students new to Northcote Intermediate will be able to do this in early January 2026 when Kindo rolls over and will allow you to log into your child’s Kindo account and change the school to Northcote Intermediate School.
NIS SWIMMING SPORTS
This will be held in week 3, 4 or 5. The date is to be confirmed as we are working with Northcote College to find a time that fits in with the schools’ respective calendars. More information about this will be sent out at the start of the term in 2026. This is an optional event that students can choose to take part in.
SPORTS ON OFFER IN 2026
All seasonal and zone day opportunities are promoted through the daily notices with sign-ups needing to be made before the stipulated due dates. Seasonal sports and those attracting payments must be registered and paid for through the Kindo account for your child. Zone Days and events not requiring payment are signed up through Google Forms.

Here is the link to our 2026 Sports booklet. We encourage all parents/caregivers to read this as it provides key information about how sport is run at Northcote Intermediate, fees, venues, trialing processes, AIMS and Sports Camp.
POLICE VETTING
School policy is that we police vet coaches and managers responsible for seasonal sports teams who are likely to be alone with students. This process protects both helpers, students and the school. We ask coaches and manager to download and complete the form and send it to our Sports co-ordinator Christo Peters complete with a copy of both sides of your drivers licence.
