Out of zone places are available to students who live outside the Northcote Intermediate School zone. The board has determined that up to 80 places are likely to be available for Out of Zone students for the Year 7 intake only. We will not be accepting out of zone placements for the Year 8 year group.  

Places are offered to applicants according to their priority group, and then according to their position on the waiting list generated by the ballot. Priority groups are prescribed by legislation and set out in our Enrolment Scheme.

2027 Out of Zone Key Dates and Information

Applications for the 2027 Out of Zone Ballot are now open. Please note the following important information:

• Ballot Closing:  4pm on Wednesday 2 September 2026
• Applications received after the deadline will not be entered into the Ballot
• Ballot Date: Wednesday 9 September 2026
• Notification: Applicants will be notified of an offer or waitlist placement within three days of the ballot
